Stephen R. Brown has had a passion for firearms since childhood. He began learning about firearms and firearms safety at the age of 8 with a Daisy BB gun, first shot a 22 cal. rim fire rifle at age 9, and took his first game animal (a cottontail rabbit) at age 11 with his Father’s 16 gauge shotgun. He received his first shotgun at age 12, and fired his first handgun at age 15. Since then, he has hunted, shot trap, skeet, small-bore handgun metallic silhouette, and IDPA Pistol. He has taught firearms safety and use for 40 years. He has carried handguns for personal protection since 2008, became an NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor in 2010, and maintains certification as a USCCA Basic Firearm, Home Defense, and Self-Defense Shooting Instructor. He specializes in teaching firearm safety and self-defense shooting and is primarily focused in teaching physically challenged, elderly, and female students, as well as welcoming novice and skilled shooters of all levels.
